ShelterBox

EMC provided matching grant contributions in December 2024 following Hurricane devastation on the East Coast and in Asheville, NC.

ShelterBox Provides emergency shelter and essential items — family tents, cooking kits, blankets, sleeping bags, water, and solar kits — to families who have lost their homes due to disasters and in war zones, enabling them to rebuild their lives.

Rated 4 stars by Charity Navigator. Supported by International Rotary, Lions, Veterans Organizations, and others.

World Central Kitchen

EMC contributed over $22,000 in December 2024 with matching grant support from EMC and WCK.

WCK responds to natural disasters and humanitarian crises — hurricanes, wildfires, tsunamis, and volcano eruptions — and provides meals for refugees at the US border, Venezuelan

families, and civilians in war zones including Gaza and Ukraine. Their approach: act quickly, listen to communities, and work with local restaurants, food trucks, and emergency kitchens to serve survivors. As of May 2024, WCK has served over 400 million meals worldwide.

Charity Navigator score: 100% — Four-Star rating with a 95.6% program expense ratio (25/25 points).

Currently active in Los Angeles and Pacific Palisades providing warm meals to neighbors evacuated due to wildfires. (January 2025)
